YOUTH PREVENTION PROGRAMS

  • Teen Nicotine Treatment (TNT) : Cessation services are available for youth that are ready to quit.  Our approach is to prevent youth from starting tobacco use in the first place.  However, for those that are missed, this program is aimed at helping them quit.  Call the coalition office for more information.
  • Tobacco Awareness Class (TAC) : A teaching program that reveals the dangers of tobacco and its addiction.  This is typically a referral program used by the county schools & probation department when youth under the age of 18 are found with tobacco.  Youth or parents that are interested to have their children know more about the dangers of tobacco, can also request to be a part of this education.
  • Teens Against Tobacco Use (TATU) : A program that helps teens remain tobacco free, develop skills to teach younger children about tobacco use, & become advocates for a tobacco free community.
  • Youth Prevention: Prevention programs presented to 2nd, 5th grade, middle & high school.  Youth are discouraged to start using any form of tobacco by showing & telling of its dangers & addiction.  The youth also become more aware of the tobacoo companies' appeal to them by targeting their marketing methods toward them to entice them to use their product.
